The Collaborative Learning Network ("CLN") is an initiative intended to offer peer support to lawyers. The aim of this network is to help lawyers manage work and life with a view to developing sustainable legal careers.
Our drop-in sessions offer lawyers a forum to discuss problems common to our profession and explore mindfulness practices that can help us to cope, and ultimately thrive, during these challenging times. The sessions are intended to build professional competency and resiliency to help lawyers withstand the pressures and stress in their lives.
Participants learn techniques to enhance awareness and stress management skills, as well as practices that foster physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The network is open to all lawyers and experience levels.
In January 2021, I led an 8-week introduction to mindfulness program that explored a holistic approach to wellness and the practice of law. The CPD accredited program was offered through the Toronto Lawyers Association ("TLA") and received positive reviews. Since then annual sessions are hosted through the TLA.
Weekly group meditation sessions continue to be offered every Wednesday @ 12:30 p.m. on Zoom.
